I think if you are looking for a real steal in the fantasy league you could do a lot worse than yours truly. Admittedly there are far more obvious choices for your all rounder. The other three all rounders in the club all have their advantages, Woody (8,000,000) would be a solid choice, he has won the individual competition twice in the last three years but I feel he will not have as good a season this time round because he is not captain and that should put an end to "Woody Time" when he amassed the bulk of his points. I would like to point out to people that it was me who beat Woody in the 2008 season. Paul 'Scooby' Thornton (6,000,000) would also seem like a good pick as he bats and bowls well and is in a league which is bread and butter to a man of his abilities. Paul’s greatest problem will be spending too much time with Brad, he needs to understand when you bring family members to a cricket match you must ignore them completely and concentrate on the game and nothing else. Some of you will cast your mind back to the game at Drax where I brought Sam along and then batted for 38 overs just in time to see him leaving the ground on his way home, happy in the fact he had seen me construct a beautiful innings. That only leaves Chris 'my knee has gone again' Copeland (3,000,000). This flash in the pan does not even deserve to be on the same all rounder page as myself, his bowling is one dimensional, he would not even be able to play the grewsra let alone bowl one. His batting also lacks the skills required to work the ball to fine leg from all any line and length. If you are looking for a hot tip both you and the ladies need to look no further than THE GREWER (5,000,000)
I know you will make the correct choice

Unfortunately I believe the Grewer has peaked too soon in this year's fantasy league.
There is no chance he will maintain the 6 wicket/48 run pace for many more weeks.
The wise money on the fantasy league goes on the spinners, who can all bowl tirelessly and also have mastered the art of sweeping (the most lucrative shot in cricket).
My, this forum feels like a mini election!

I'm thoroughly won over by The Grewer. Can I pick a team of 8x Grewer? I'll play with 3 short.
Not only does he give a convincing argument in support of his sublime skills, but also an inspiring paean containing the key to a happy, family-oriented life…
Maybe I've been subliminally seduced by the sideways G's all the way up the left-hand side of this page?

I would like to remind everybody about The Grewer. In the 2008 season when I was robbed of the title The Grewer made a similar performance at Burn. I think it was 6 wickets and 50 (a big game). I kept telling myself that it was a flash in the pan and The Grewer was too old to be turning in these performances week on week but he kept turning that screw all the way to the end. I have had the pleasure of playing with The Grewer (that's what she said ) for many years now and although to look at him you would think this lad is not a cricketer he has proven the odd one or two wrong over the years. Beware of writing off the steal of the FL season
Peace out
Woody

Ok let me set something straight. As good as the convincing argument was – it was not posted by The Grewer. We have an impersonator and I dont like others using my name – THE Grewer.
Whoever it was should fess up.
That said I do intend to continue my early season form and I always rise to a challenge and boy it was good to pip Woody in 2008 and I hope to do the same in 2010. Lets hope it's a four horse race and others step up too!

Hi all,
Well, following The Grewer's assertion that there has been somebody acting as an imposter as him on the forum, I can confirm that I *do* actually have the tools to identify the person that posted the message, and have indeed uncovered the identify of the person posing as the Grewer!
Without further ado, I can expose that person as being…

Who is it? Is it a friend of mine? Who is it? Is it my brother? Who is it? Somebody help my soul now, who is it? I can't take this stuff no more, no…
My guesses:
1. Willy Knight
2. The Slezak
3. The Grewer
It has to be one of these but the smart money is on W. Knight…

Ok the suspense is killing me more than my aching hamstring.
Reveal all Mr Hall. Tell the world who this lowly fellow (or gall) is. I implore you.
Or has Copes got an idea. Can we do a sweepstake and raise funds for the club?

Sometimes the person who protests enough is the culprit…The Copeland?
Even if it was not THE Grewer (which I still think it could be) I am sure he thinks all of those thoughts anyway. Maybe he asked Kate to do it…big me up baby and I will add another floor to our little bungalow

A sweepstake? Now there's a good idea. A pound an entry – all recent players implicated.
We could even do some kind of dramatic "unmasking of the culprit", Hercule Poirot style.
"Yes – the imposter was clever. Very clever. But they made one fatal mistake, so I can reveal that our charlatan is…"
Oh, the tension.

I agree with The Wood, the reason the original post was so convincing was that we know The Grewer thinks like this. The Kate Theory also crossed my mind… put her in there as suspect no. 4.

I see the list of suspects is ever growing. Perhaps the butler did it?
If there's somebody in the club that has a butler, it'd be The Grewer.

These cheap swipes at my living style are very amusing – even suspect no.4 (Kate) found it amusing and boy is it going to cost me – she thinks the idea of another floor is a great idea (or a small gym in the garden would do).
How far will club funds go?
Still I am intrigued to know who this imposter is – bout time he/she came clean!

Some of you will have noticed I am nicely positioned in the latest fantasy league table. I was a little surprised to only be 2nd after my limited input into the last two games as a result of a misguided captain. If I am so close to the top when I am not involved imagine what will happen when I am invited back into the fold. You may have noticed my current position will only be increased this weekend with the dropping of Woody. This is reminiscent of the season when I beat him into 2nd, missing games because he could not handle the competition. You may also have read how Chris Copeland is finally pulling his weight with bat and ball. All this has done has secured his position as the weakest all rounder in the club having said that everybody looks weak when compared to The Grewer
And for my next task…Reeling in Scooby with a few well pitched Grewsra’s at North Duffield

Obscene!!!
Whoever is professing to be The Grewer is doing a useless job! You have no class at all. Leave the self praise to me – we dont need to of us doing it.
Or do I have an alter ego?

Me thinks he doth protest too much. Revise that list of suspects:
1. The Grewer himself
2. W. Knight
3. The Slezak
4. The Kate Grewer
5. The Wood

What an outrageous claim by The Copeland. I would not dare question his all rounder ability. He knows fine well I am his greatest fan (after himself).
I would just like to state for the record The Wood believes The Copeland is the key stone in the arch of the 1st team
Much love

Quite a love-in going on here…
Personally I suspect that Grewer himself is the culprit…
