Well done Parag! Not just on amazing batting, but also on the bowling. It was your best and most accurate spell for the club. Consistently outside off it was a pleasure to keep to.

Also I think Jim deserves some real credit for his spell. After a hard start and some initial problems with his rhythm he hit his straps and took some good wickets.

But as Ian says it was a good team performance with everybody contributing.

Haha - I'd rather you didn't, Mr. Dale! Captaining once a season is enough for me...

Excellent piece of journalism by the Copeland.

P.s. Here is a visual seminar on the Chris Copeland School of Umpiring. Please watch this if unsure what to do when the bowler appeals.

A few words of wisdom from the most successful captain in Askham Bryan's recent history.

Keeping the boys motivated in the field is a constant battle, mixing the bowling to suit not only the conditions but the batsmen at the crease is an art that some say can never be mastered however the toughest decision any bowling captain will face...Do I take my 12 overs in one go or split it over two spells?

I strongly believe the cakes provide the much needed quick burning sugars required for 'Woody Time'. The most destructive 2 overs in any Askham game

A fine report, Mr. Copeland.

Though I must make one correction - as a recognised athlete myself, I can confirm that real athletes do eat cakes during cricket matches.

Indeed, they also eat them before and after football matches.

And during jogs.

Isotonic, you see.
