David Knight Opens 68 Point Gap In Fantasy League!

So, with the first round of matches played, David Knight has opened up a 68 point gap at the top of the Askham Bryan CC Fantasy League. His 163 points, including a bonus of 40 for scoring a century, is the fifth highest return ever, and David’s fourth 100 point haul.

Evergreen, veteran, old warhorse, decrepit Will Knight and Terry Kiernan both managed to better their last season’s total in just the first game! In Terry’s case, it took him just three consecutive balls – yes, a hat-trick – to better his 2008 return. And Mark – that’s why you had Terry in your team!

Other good performances included a 95 point haul from Mike Clark on debut (the highest ever points tally on debut), an 85 point haul from Paul Thornton, and 80 points from Ian Hall (‘Albert’ I see he refers to himself as). Last season’s table topper Mark Grewer got off to a slow start netting just 7 points from his first game. Another of the pace setters in the previous two years, Pete Wood, also got off to a sluggish start, despite bowling well, with a return of just 27 points.

I know a number of you are still deliberating on your teams, please let me have these a.s.a.p, preferably E-Mailed to David Knight. Anyone who thinks they have an advantage by waiting to submit their team may be sadly mistaken. Last year, Sideshow submitted what was the best team on known results after two weeks, and finished up in the bottom half of the league table!
