Team Of The Week – The Tigers Are Back! (Archive Match Report)
As they say on the ‘Weakest Link’: “In a reversal of fortune from the last round, ‘The Tigers Are Back!’ who were the weakest link in the last round are now the strongest link”! Incredible! And they haul themselves off bottom spot with those 339 points. I spoke to Chris Parker on the phone last week and have my first legitimate quote for this column. “The only way is up!” said Chris, which is true, unless of course you are the real ‘Tigers’ in which case the reverse probably holds true. Encouraged by my newfound ability to obtain authentic quotes, I also rang Colin Garnett who said: “Hello, Colin Garnett speaking.”
Congratulations also to Andy Neilands who amassed 114 Fantasy League Points last week to become the second highest Fantasy League points scorer of all time. For the record, the century makers thus far are: Mark Grewer 173, Andy Neilands 114, and David Knight 107 and 100.
There were a number of strong performances in the second team including Paul Thornton (61) and Mike Hodgkinson (45). Chis Parker, Amit Patel, Jason Maxwell and Colin Garnett also added useful contributions. In the first team Pete Wood (57) and David Knight (51) top scored. Jon Martin, Mark Grewer, and Mish Slezak also got useful points.
Mike Hamshere’s “Camp Yellow…(Whatever)” storm into a 80 point lead at the top of the table with Mark Grewer’s “Golden Arms XI” losing ground. Charlotte and Felix now occupy bottom spot thanks to Chris Parker’s heroics. There are still a number of teams handily placed near the top of the league waiting to pounce, however.
Another point of interest is that neither wicket keeper seems to have played for three weeks. Are they going out with each other, or something?
